Freshers Orientation Program of Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science - Summer 2025

We are delighted to announce the successful completion of the Freshmen Orientation Program – Fall 2025 for the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (ADS) at Green University of Bangladesh. The event was held on September 24, 2025, at 11:30 AM in Room B-111, warmly welcoming our fresher students with an engaging and informative session.

The program commenced with recitations from the Holy Quran and Gita by members of Green Neural and Synaptic Intelligence Society (GENESIS), setting a solemn and inspiring tone for the event. 

We were honored by the presence of distinguished guests:

• Chief Guest: Dr. ASM Shihavuddin, Professor, EEE department, Director CETL and CRITS, Green University of Bangladesh

• Session Chair: Dr. Muhammad Abul Hasan, Chairperson & Associate Professor, Dept. of ADS, GUB

The orientation began with a motivational speech by our chief guest, Prof. Dr. ASM Shihavuddin, who emphasized the department’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and research. He shared insights into the latest advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) and their transformative impact across industries.

Our Chairperson, Dr. Muhammad Abul Hasan, then formally welcomed the freshers. His speech highlighted the department’s values, academic expectations, and research opportunities in AI and ML. In his inspiring speech, he emphasized the department's unwavering commitment to academic excellence and its dedication to providing continuous support to students.

The program continued with an informative speech by Rakib Abdullah, Lecturer, Dept. of ADS. He highlighted the importance of innovation and research in shaping the future of technology.

Mr. Shankha Shubhra Sarkar, Adjunct Lecturer, Department of ADS, shared insights into the latest advancements in the fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI), shedding light on how these technologies are revolutionizing various industries.

A session on the Mentorship Program was conducted by Md. Robiul Islam (Student Mentor, ADS) and Bakul Ahmed (Student Mentor, ADS),  emphasizing the importance of mentorship programs supporting students’ academic and personal growth. This session concluded with an interactive Q&A, where students actively participated, seeking clarity on various aspects of their academic journey.

Additionally, a session on Competitive Programming was conducted by Md. Hosain Rohman Noyon (GUBCPC Mentor), highlighting the importance and benefits of competitive programming and introducing the newcomers to the Green University Competitive Programming Community.

After that, our Chairperson and faculty members welcomed the freshers with special gifts.

Finally, the GENESIS president Mehedei Hasan Ashik (Student, 251 Batch) in his speech shared the club activities thoroughly and encouraged students to join the club to actively participate in the departmental activities.

The event was skillfully hosted by Wasif Iqbal Rudra and Samia Sikder (GENESIS Members), ensuring a seamless flow of activities. The program concluded with a group photoshoot, capturing the enthusiasm and excitement of our newest members. The event was highly interactive, engaging, and well-received by the students, setting a strong foundation for their academic journey at the Green University of Bangladesh.
