We are pleased to share that the Green University Student Mentorship Program Committee (GUSMP), in coordination with the Green Neural and Synaptic Intelligence Society (Genesis Club) of the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (ADS) Department, successfully organized an online discussion session titled “Chairperson Meets with First Semester Students for Pre-Midterm Guidance, Summer 2025”. The event took place on Tuesday, 22nd July 2025, from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM via the Zoom platform.

The session was organized for the ADS 250 batch as they are going to attend the midterm examination for the first time. The session focused on providing academic advice, explaining exam guidelines, and sharing motivational insights. Faculty members and mentors were present to help students with the necessary guidelines for exam preparation.

The session began with a speech by ADS Mentor M. A. Rakib Sarker, who warmly welcomed everyone and shared key points on approaching exams with clarity and planning.

Next, our special guest Dr. Md. Mostafijur Rahman, Chairperson and Associate Professor, Dept. of SWE states the importance of both physical and mental well-being for academic success. He provided detailed guidance on how to prepare for midterms, discussing key study techniques and pre-exam strategies.  He also warned students about misconduct during exams, reminding them that Green University has a strict policy against unethical behavior. He explained that assignments, quizzes, and attendance all contribute to a student's final grade.

Following that our Session Chair, Dr. Muhammad Abul Hasan, Chairperson and Associate Professor, Dept. of ADS, started with a warm greeting to all the students, guests, faculty members, and mentors. He shared a motivational story on exam preparation and gave advice on the importance of preparation and shared tips on how to approach academic tasks. He encouraged students to maintain discipline, time management, and academic honesty. He clarified that make-up and improvement exams are only allowed in serious circumstances and how to apply for these exams. Dr. Hasan concluded by thanking all the faculty members, guests, and mentors for their contributions to the session.

Next, Our ADS mentors Shahadat Hossain Nishan and M. A. Rakib Sarker shared about the Mentorship Program activities, Club involvement and its benefits. They demonstrated how to download the admit card from the student portal and briefly discussed the exam offenses.

Finally, Wahia Tasnim,  Lecturer and Program Coordinator, Dept. of ADS, gave practical advice on exam-day procedures. She briefly discussed the makeup, overlap and improvement exam application procedure. Additionally, She emphasized the importance of bringing an admit card and reviewing the exam schedule carefully. 

The session ended with an interactive  Q&A segment, where students from Batch 250 actively asked questions about exam preparation and other concerns. The Chairperson, along with the faculty members, guests, and mentors, answered their questions, ensuring that the students  felt more confident and well-prepared.

The event was skillfully hosted by ADS Mentor M.A. Rakib Sarker, ensuring a seamless flow of activities. Overall, the session provided students with useful advice, encouragement, and clear strategies to excel in their mid-term exams. It reinforced the importance of discipline, time management, and academic honesty. With support from mentors and faculty members, the students felt motivated and ready for the challenges ahead.
