Fall 2026 Freshers’ Orientation Program Held by the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (ADS) of Green University of Bangladesh (GUB) organized the Fall 2026 Freshers’ Orientation Program on 27 September 2026 at the GUB Permanent Campus. The program welcomed newly admitted students and introduced them to the academic environment, faculty members, mentors, student activities, and opportunities within the ADS Department.

The program commenced with a welcome session chaired by Dr. Muhammad Abul Hasan, Chairperson, Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, who addressed the newly admitted students and shared valuable guidance regarding their academic journey and life at the university.

Following the session chair’s address, Md. Maruful Islam Maruf, Lecturer and Program Coordinator, ADS, delivered his speech and provided the freshers with an overview of the academic programs, departmental activities, and opportunities available to students.

Wahia Tasnim, Mentor and Moderator, subsequently addressed the students and shared guidance on academic development, mentorship, and adapting to university life.

The program also featured an address by Rakib Abdullah, Moderator of the GENESIS Club, who introduced the students to extracurricular activities and encouraged them to actively participate in student organizations and departmental initiatives alongside their academic pursuits.

The newly joined lecturer of the department, Md. Minhajul Islam Fuad, also addressed the freshers and extended his warm welcome to the new students, sharing his best wishes for their academic journey at GUB.

Representing the student community, Nahiyan Kadri Logno, President of the GENESIS Club, delivered a speech welcoming the freshers and highlighting the role of student clubs and extracurricular activities in developing leadership, teamwork, communication, and other essential skills.

The program also included speeches from mentors Jahidul Hasan Jisan and Muktadi Kamal, who shared their experiences and provided practical advice and encouragement to the newly admitted students as they began their university journey.

The orientation program concluded with a gift-giving ceremony, where gifts were presented to the newly admitted students as a gesture of welcome and to commemorate the beginning of their journey with the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.

The event provided a warm and engaging platform for the new students to connect with faculty members, mentors, senior students, and their peers, while becoming familiar with the academic and extracurricular opportunities offered by the ADS Department.
