Website Upgradation Committee


The Website Upgradation Committee is responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining improvements to an institution’s or department’s official website. Its primary goal is to ensure the website is modern, user-friendly, regularly updated, and aligned with branding and communication strategies.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Website Audit and Requirement Analysis

  • Conduct regular audits of the current website for performance, design, content, and security.

  • Gather input from stakeholders (students, faculty, admin) to identify improvement areas.

  • Assess compliance with institutional and regulatory branding, accessibility, and UI/UX standards.

2. Content Review and Update

  • Review and update:

    • Faculty profiles, achievements, publications

    • Departmental news, events, announcements

    • Syllabus, timetables, admission notices

    • Photo galleries, awards, research highlights

  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and relevancy of content.

3. Design and User Experience Enhancement

  • Recommend and implement improvements to:

    • Navigation and structure

    • Visual design (modern layout, branding colors, typography)

    • Mobile responsiveness and cross-browser compatibility

4. Technical Upgradation

  • Suggest updates to the technology stack (CMS, frameworks, hosting platform).

  • Improve website speed, SEO optimization, and security (SSL, backups).

  • Ensure integration of plugins/tools like feedback forms, analytics, or chatbots.

5. Coordination with Developers/IT Cell

  • Work closely with the IT team, web developers, or external agencies for implementation.

  • Provide structured documentation for requested changes and features.

  • Test new features or content updates before going live.

6. Compliance and Accessibility

  • Ensure the site adheres to:

    • WCAG accessibility guidelines

    • Data protection policies (GDPR, if applicable)

    • Institutional guidelines on logos, fonts, and identity

7. Regular Monitoring and Maintenance

  • Set up a schedule for periodic reviews and content refreshes.

  • Monitor for broken links, outdated info, security vulnerabilities.

  • Use Google Analytics or similar tools to track user behavior and improve engagement.

8. Documentation and Reporting

  • Maintain logs of all changes, upgrades, and issues resolved.

  • Prepare reports on website traffic, feedback, and performance.

  • Submit upgrade proposals and progress reports to the head of the department or institution.
